Katrina Ivanov

Katrina Ivanov is one of the creators of this program. She has been involved in Applied Behaviour Analysis for the past 25 years, conducting research, teaching and consulting.

When approached by Liz Morch to be involved in the development of this program, Katrina was excited to put her skills to use in a very important area of preventative care. Most of her career has centered on inclusion, and ways to help individuals with diverse needs lead happier, healthier lives. After talking to Liz about preventative dental care, she realized how difficult it must be for children and adults with sensory concerns to access this kind of care. This was soon confirmed on a personal level, when her young child with auditory sensitivities left two separate dental visits in tears, without completing the examination. It underlined the importance of having a program that allowed children and adults to become acclimated to some of the experiences in the dental office, so that the visit itself could be more relaxed and comfortable.
