Hi! Welcome back! Now we’re going to count your teeth! But first, how many fingers do you have? Let’s count those first!
Now, how many teeth do you have? Let’s count!
Let’s use the tooth counter also called an explorer to count your teeth. The tooth counter feels like a soft tap.
The dentist or hygienist will count your teeth out loud. Your job is to keep your mouth open big while they are counting.
Now we need to feel your teeth. The tooth counter called an explorer explores your teeth and makes a funny scratching sound.
In order to see your teeth more clearly, we may need to wash and dry your teeth. So we may squirt water or air (wind) into your mouth.
Here is a video of the water squirting.
Next, we may need to suck the water out of your mouth. We use something called a straw for that. It works like a little vacuum! Great job! You’ve counted and washed all of your teeth! Congratulations!
